From 2017 to 2022, he served as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Polish Commodity Science Society, and from 2016 to 2021, as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Commodity Quality Problems. The result is the introduction in Poland of the technique of replacement sphincters and restoration of sphincters using the patient's own muscles (graciloplasty). Stanisław Staszic University of Science and Technology in Kraków
Ilona Jastrzębska graduated with honors in 2012, majoring in Chemical Technology, at the Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics, AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków. Then, in 2017, she defended her doctoral thesis with distinction on the structure and properties of refractory spinels. During her doctorate, she completed a research internship at Rostock University. For her doctoral thesis, she received the international Gustav-Eirich Award. In 2019, she also completed postgraduate studies in "Business English".

Her research interests are strongly focused on refractory materials for the copper industry. She obtained her postdoctoral degree in agricultural sciences in the discipline of food and nutrition technology in 2018. For years, she has been working on waste management issues in the energy sector, developing sorbents for both CO2 and Hg flue gas cleaning and hydrogen storage. In this area, she was the manager of the award-winning LIDER project entitled "Application of energy waste materials for the capture of gaseous forms of mercury from flue gases." In the area of CO2 capture and hydrogen storage, her achievements also include coordination and management of international projects, working with entities such as the University of Nottingham, UK, and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research in Pretoria, South Africa. Prof. Natalia Marek-Trzonkowska, PhD, is director of the International Centre for Cancer Vaccine Sciences (ICCVS) at the University of Gdansk. Her research focuses on the clinical application of immune cells. Among other things, she is the co-inventor of the first use of regulatory T cells (Treg) in the treatment of type 1 diabetes in children, co-founder of PolTREG S.A. and author of international patents on ways to produce cells for therapeutic purposes. She is currently working on personalized cell therapy for non-small cell lung cancer. The researcher's interdisciplinary profile, combining chemistry, physics, and mathematics with applied computer science, allows her to conduct fundamental research that has wide-ranging practical applications in economics and business, while also contributing to environmental protection. Prof. Krzysztof T. Wojciechowski, Ph.D., is an employee of the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Ceramics at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow. He is the founder and head of the Thermoelectric Technology Laboratory of the AGH Energy Center. He has been working on the subject of thermoelectric materials and devices for more than 20 years. He has co-authored more than 90 publications in scientific journals, about 300 scientific presentations and more than 20 invited conference presentations in this area.
Prof. Wojciechowski and his team are widely active in R&D and implementation of thermoelectric technologies. Dr. Artur Kasprzak, Eng. is a researcher working at the Department of Chemistry, Warsaw University of Technology (WUT). His main areas of interest are organic chemistry and materials chemistry. He is the author of many new compounds and materials dedicated to environmental monitoring. His latest discovery is a magnetic material that can act as an effective cesium adsorbent, i.e., a material by which cesium can be removed from the environment. This material was developed as part of his "Materials Technologies" grant under the Research University Excellence Initiative program at PW. Justyna Kucińska-Lipka, Ph.D., professor at the university, is an employee of the Department of Polymer Technology, Faculty of Chemistry, PG. She was awarded the title of Doctor of Science in Chemical Technology by a resolution of the Council of the PG Chemical Faculty on 12. 12. 2007, and on 12 .09. 2018 by a resolution of the same Council she was awarded the title of Doctor of Science in Chemical Technology. In that year she was also promoted to the position of professor of the University. Since the beginning of her research career, she has been involved in the synthesis, modification and characterization of polyurethanes with applications in medicine and additive technologies (3D printing). Her current research focuses on additive technologies applicable to the fabrication of both hybrid small-molecule release systems as components of dressing layers and degradable systems with applications in otolaryngology, among others. Bartłomiej Wysocki, PhD, is an assistant professor at the Multidisciplinary Research Centre of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, where he manages the 3D Printing Laboratory and deals with the transfer of research results obtained to industry. He is the author of dozens of international articles and holds numerous granted patents and implementations concerning metal and plastic incremental technologies. Dr Anna Sobiepanek's area of scientific interest is the application of modern biophysical and biomolecular methods to characterise the changes occurring in skin cells as a result of physiological processes, as well as the progression of various disease entities including skin cancer. To this end, a better understanding of cell glycosylation as one of the most important post-translational processes occurring in cells is essential. Due to the structural diversity of glycans, numerous processes such as proliferation, migration and cell-cell contact are possible.
In 2020, Anna Sobiepanek was awarded second place in the doctoral thesis category in the area of 'Innovations implemented into the economy' in the competition for the best thesis, organised by the Parliament of Students of the Republic of Poland and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Dr Sobiepanek has experience in managing as many as five projects from various funding sources (e.g. NCN, IDUB, PW). She has also been awarded numerous grants including NCN, COST action, PW and is co-author of 18 scientific articles and 9 chapters in monographs.

Marian Lubieniecki graduated from the Faculty of Ocean Engineering and Shipbuilding at the University of Gdansk with a master's degree in engineering. He continued his education at the Institute of Flow Machinery of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Gdansk, earning a doctorate in technical sciences. He began his professional career at Philips Royal Electronics as a Mechanical Project Manager, and also worked at ABB/ALSTOM as an Aerodynamics Specialist Engineer in the Steam Turbine Research and Development Department.
He has been associated with the Warsaw Engineering Design Center almost since its inception. He was one of the first GE Aviation employees at the Engineering Design Center, where he worked as a Design Engineer for turbine engine flow parts. He held successive management positions for seven years, before establishing GE Oil & Gas's upstream technology team at EDC in 2007, which he grew into an organization of several hundred people. He then became Executive Director of the subsea technologies team.

Dr. Remigiusz Kopoczek has been involved in the scientific community for years. He earned his doctorate at the University of Szczecin.
Since 2020, he has been a member of the Senate of the University of Silesia in Katowice. He has co-authored courses in game design and virtual space, and authored and co-authored publications on the process of computer game development, the use of multimedia and virtual reality in education, among others. She is the author of numerous national and and foreign publications. She is also active in international intellectual property law organisations INTA and AIPPI.

Participation in the Smart Development Forum allowed to meet many personalities from the world of science and business. Talking together and receiving an award provided motivation for further scientific work. The Forum provided information on how to effectively cooperate with business and build effective teams. For us as scientists, it enabled a more implementation-oriented view of research work.

The forum is a dozen conferences, dozens of speakers and exchange of opinions, experiences of professionals from the world of business, science and local government and government institutions. The Polish Smart Growth Award has been awarded since 2016 to scientists, investors and organizations whose activities affect the sustainable development of the economy and society. In my opinion, this is a very valuable initiative, in which innovation in various areas of life is appreciated. It is also a great honor and ennoblement for scientists and organizations whose work, often for the first time, is noticed and awarded, which mobilizes further intensive work. The great value of the Polish Intelligent Development Award is the popularization and promotion of current research directions and results, which is extremely important in times of lack of communication between the scientific community, the business sphere and society.
