Prof. Tomasz Wasilewski

(formerly Boruta-Zachem S.A.).

Professor Wasilewski is engaged in scientific and didactic activities in the field of cosmetics and detergents. He is the author of 40 patents (including international patents) and more than 160 scientific articles. He has directed and participated in more than 20 scientific projects, most of them carried out in cooperation with industry.

In 2004, he received his PhD from the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology, and in 2014 he was awarded a postdoctoral degree from the Faculty of Commodity Science at Cracow University of Economics. In 2021, by a decision of the President of the Republic of Poland, he was awarded the title of professor.

From 2016 to 2019, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Commodity Sciences, and from 2012 to 2016 as Vice Dean for Academic Affairs. From 2013 to 2020, he headed the Department of Chemistry and then the Department of Commodity and Quality Sciences.

In 2020, he was appointed by the Minister of Development, Labor and Technology as a member of the Chemical Sector Competence Council. He currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Commodity Sciences - Quality Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. From 2017 to 2022, he served as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Polish Commodity Science Society, and from 2016 to 2021, as Editor-in-Chief of the journal Commodity Quality Problems. He serves on the Program Council of the journal Chemical Industry and on the Scientific Council of the journal Chemistry and Business - Cosmetic and Economic Chemistry Market.

He has been actively cooperating with industry and other scientific entities for years. Since 2015, he has been the owner of the innovation and implementation company CosMedChem. He has led a number of scientific and research works on the development of innovative cosmetics or household chemistry products. He co-develops cosmetics present on the market under the OnlyBio brand and is involved in the implementation of research and development projects. In the scientific sphere, he cooperates with, among others, the Łukasiewicz Research Network - the Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis "Blachownia" in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, the Military Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology in Warsaw, the Research Institute of Daily Chemical Industry in Taiyuan, China, and the University of Engineering and Health Sciences in Warsaw.

He has received numerous awards for his work. Among other awards, he was a recipient of a scholarship from the Foundation for Polish Science and a scholarship from the Minister of National Education. In addition, he has been awarded medals several times at fairs and exhibitions, dedicated to cosmetic products (including the Poznań International Fair, ARCA International Exhibition of Inventions in Zagreb, IENA Exhibition in Nuremberg, Inno-Wings International Exhibition of Inventions in Lublin).
