Prof. Dr. Artur Blażejewski
Born 6.08.1967 in Wrocław. Graduated from the 13th A. Fredro High School in Wrocław in 1986.
In 1986-1991, studied archaeology at Wrocław University. In 1989-1991, technical worker at the Archaeological Expedition of the University of Wrocław in Novae (Bulgaria).
In 1991-1995 doctoral student of the Silesian Studies Doctoral Programme of the University of Wrocław. D. thesis in 1996. Funerary rites of the Przeworsk Culture in Silesia, under the supervision of Prof. Stanisław Pazda, Ph.
From 1995-1996 assistant in the Archaeological Department of the Regional Museum in Środa Śląska. Since 1996 assistant professor at the Institute of Archaeology, University of Warsaw. In 2000, guest professor at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris (Marseille Branch).
Habilitated in 2007 on the basis of his dissertation Przeworsk culture and the Rhine-Weserian cultural zone. Since 2010, professor at the University of Wrocław.
Promoter of 60 bachelor's theses, 70 master's theses and 5 doctorates. Author and co-author of 120 scientific works, including 5 books, published nationally and internationally.
In 2012-2016 Director of the Institute of Archaeology UWr, since 2016 Senator of UWr, since 2020 Dean of the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences, since 15.06.2022 Vice-Rector for Scientific Research of the University of Wrocław.
Corresponding member of the Deutsches Archäologisches Institut since 2014. Vice-president of the Main Board of the Scientific Association of Polish Archaeologists.
