Dr. Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik
Dr Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik, mayor of Zabrze since 2006.
Elected President of the Board of the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union in 2015. She participated in the work on the establishment of the Upper Silesian-Zagłębian Metropolis.
A mathematician by education. Graduate of the University of Silesia in Katowice. At the Silesian University of Technology, she completed postgraduate studies in management and computer science. She obtained her doctoral degree in political science at the Pedagogical University in Kraków. By the decision of the Senate of the University of Economics in 2013, she became a member of the EU Convention in Katowice.
She is the author of works in the field of: management of external and internal communication of a local government unit and application of IT solutions in the process of social communication of a local government unit.
Earlier, Dr. Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik initiated the establishment of the first self-government art school in Poland: Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych in Zabrze.
