Dr Iwona Mazur

Faculty of English at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań

Dr Iwona Mazur works at the Department of English Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, where she specialises in audiodescription research. She has participated in many national and international research projects, both as a contractor and as a manager. She is co-author of the first monograph on audiodescription on the Polish market (Audiodeskrypcja, 2014), as well as standards for creating audiodescription in English (ADLAB Guidelines, 2015). From 2016 to 2019, she co-created multimedia materials for audiodescriber training as part of the European project ADLAB PRO. She has served on the boards of the international organisations European Society for Translation Studies EST and European Association for Studies in Screen Translation ESIST. She is currently working on an Opus 24 project funded by the National Science Centre entitled. "Visually impaired people and multimodal text functions: Developing a functional model for audiodescription'.
