Halina Jurkowska, MD, PhD - Assistant Professor, Department of Medical Biochemistry, Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum, where she has worked since 2000. Master's degree at the Faculty of Biology and Earth Sciences, Jagiellonian University, Institute of Molecular Biology - diploma with honors in biology with specialization in molecular biology (2000r). At the Faculty of Medicine, Jagiellonian University, CM, she received her PhD degree in biology in 2008, and her postdoctoral degree in medical and health sciences in 2019. She spent two years at Cornell University (2012-2013) as part of the ''Mobility Plus'' program funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, during which she carried out the scientific project she directed, ''Desulfurization metabolism of cysteine in the absence of its oxidation due to genetically determined cysteine dioxygenase deficiency. Inflammation versus hydrogen sulfide." In 2022 she received the Individual Award of the Rector of the Jagiellonian University for teaching achievements; Awards of the Faculty of Medicine of the Jagiellonian University CM for publications with high IF (2018r, 2019r). Head and principal investigator of many scientific projects (financed by funds from the subsidy of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for maintenance and development of research potential of the Faculties of UJ CM). Total score of scientific output- IF: 83.364, Hirsch Coefficient: 11. She is Guest Editor in Analytical Biochemistry and Biomolecules, reviewer of scientific papers. Participated in organizing national scientific conferences; active participation in many scientific conferences (domestic and foreign). Member of PTBioch.
