Prof. Artur Blazejewski

Vice-Rector for Scientific Research of the University of Wroclaw

Born 6.08.1967 in Wroclaw. Graduated from the 13th high school named after A. Fredro in Wroclaw in 1986.

In 1986-1991 studied archaeology at the University of Wroclaw. In 1989-1991 technical worker in the Archaeological Expedition of the University of Wroclaw in Novae (Bulgaria).

In 1991-1995, a doctoral student of the Silesian Studies Doctoral Program of UWr. D. dissertation in 1996 Funerary Rites of the Przeworsk Culture in Silesia, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Stanislaw Pazda.

From 1995 to 1996 assistant in the Archaeological Department of the Regional Museum in Środa Śląska. Since 1996, assistant professor at the Institute of Archaeology at UWr. In 2000, guest professor at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris (Marseille Branch).

In 2007, he habilitated on the basis of his dissertation Przeworsk culture and the Rhine-Weser cultural zone. Since 2010 professor at the University of Wroclaw.

Promoter of 60 bachelor's theses, 70 master's theses and 5 doctorates. Author and co-author of 120 scientific works, including 5 books, published at home and abroad.

In 2012-2016 Director of the Institute of Archaeology of UWr, since 2016 Senator of UWr, since 2020 Dean of the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences, since 15.06.2022 Vice-Rector for Scientific Research of the University of Wroclaw.

Corresponding member of the Deutsches Archäologisches Institut since 2014. Vice-president of the General Board of the Scientific Association of Polish Archaeologists.
