Aleksandra Monsiol-Szatkowska

Director, Department of Economy and International Cooperation, Marshall Office of the Silesian Voivodship

She gained professional experience in large companies operating in heavy industry. She served as the Mayor's Plenipotentiary for Supporting Innovation at the Katowice City Hall. She also coordinated the activities of a non-governmental organisation promoting science and technology and organising cooperation with European clusters.

Currently, she leads a team whose activities focus on the economic promotion of the region by strengthening competences in the creation of new, future-oriented industries, as well as on creating a good climate for investment and export.

The team also deals with supporting SMEs in the process of internationalisation, cooperation between the local government, science and business, as well as establishing and maintaining international relations with the partner regions of the Silesian Voivodeship.

Graduate of the University of Silesia in physical sciences with a specialisation in medical physics and in social and political sciences, MBA.
